We have loved living in the vibrant inner bayside location of St Kilda West for over two decades and now feel excited to offer this beautiful space to families looking for a short stay vacation or interstate executives whose work often takes them away from the comfort of their own home. We want you to think of Cowderoy as a home away from home as you enjoy all that Melbourne has on offer.

For Families

This is your opportunity to explore the beauty and vibrance of St Kilda West in style and comfort

As they say, it's all about the location, location location.... Set in this prime location, we invite you to have the ultimate inner-city experience  while here in Melbourne. You'll be staying in St Kilda West, a picturesque little inner city bayside suburb of Melbourne which is nestled between St Kilda and Middle Park.  Cowderoy escape is situated across the road from Albert Park and just a short 5 minutes walk from the beach. We are also near the light rail for an easy tram ride into the city.

For Excutives

It's not all about the work....
Let's make your time in Melbourne meaningful

This is your opportunity to make your time in Melbourne more than just about the work. Working away from home doesn't have to deplete your soul. That's why we created Cowderoy, an executive city escape for those wanting more than just somewhere to stay. We want you to think of Cowderoy as a place for you to land and feel at home. We specifically wanted to create a soulful experience for executives whose job regularly takes them away from home and as a result, feel depleted from the revolving hotel room experience. Cowderoy City Escape also offers the opportunity for family and friends to visit and share your Melbourne experience. Andrew knows, firsthand, what it's like to 'live' in a hotel having spent many years travelling from NZ to Australia for work on a weekly basis. That is why we created a home away from home for those who must spend time away from friends and family for work.

To enhance your stay at Cowderoy, our city corporate escape offers a range of  amenities and luxuries.

Things to do in St Kilda

Food glorious food

Click here for travel journalist’s, Chris Singh’s "Hit list of 21 St Kilda restaurants to dine at now” if you want to join St Kilda’s obsession with eating and drinking exceptionally well.

In his words …. Seaside dining just hits differently”.

Some of my favs include Stokehouse, Donovans, Cicciolina, and one, not on his list is Sister of soul for fabulous vegetarian/vegan delights

Palais Theatre

The Palais Theatre boasts an expertly curated program packed with some of the best international and local performers.  This historic and beautiful ornate venue is one of Australia’s best live music venues.

St Kilda Pier has Penguins!

Promenading the kilometre-long St Kilda pier is about as ‘Melbourne’ as it gets. The historic kiosk at the end of the pier was rebuilt to the original Victorian plans after being destroyed by fire in 2003.

The cafe is great for soaking up views of Melbourne as well as checking out the penguins at dusk and if you’re lucky you might catch volunteers from Earthcare St Kilda doing their regular penguin health checks.

That said, St Kilda Pier is currently under redevelopment and the penguin viewing area, breakwater, and  Pier Kiosk are closed. Check the Parks Victoria website for updates.

Luna Park

Luna Park opened in 1912 and has remained the state’s most iconic theme park since. It’s just $20 for an entry ticket and a free complimentary ride, or $55 per person for unlimited rides for anyone over the age of 13

South Melbourne Market

Established in 1867, the South Melbourne Market is the quintessential village market and a must visit while in Melbourne. Open every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am

Albert Park Lake

Magnificent Albert Park Lake is only three kilometres from the heart of the city and just opposite Cowderoy city escape, The lake and surrounds is popular for a range of activities like dog walking, jogging, cycling, sailing and rowing and is home to the Melbourne Grand Prix, held in March each year.

Apart from the lake itself, other attractions include sporting facilities, ovals, playgrounds, restaurants and a five kilometres of walking and running track

St Kilda Beach

St Kilda's most definitive feature is the iconic St Kilda Beach. With a very active foreshore, locals and visitors make a beeline straight to those golden sands once the sun makes its appearance and the swimming conditions of Port Phillip Bay settle. When the winds are right, you'll see the colourful kiteboarding sails filling the sky at the end of Cowderoy street, it's magic

St Kilda Esplanade Market

The historic St Kilda Esplanade Market on the St Kilda Esplanade is an icon of St Kilda and Melbourne. A world-renowned art and craft makers’ haven, the market has been the destination of choice for those seeking high-quality and authentic Australian products since 1970. Find a range of arts, crafts and other original creations to take home every Sunday from 10am
