Back in October 2022, the trajectory of Andrew and my life changed in one defining moment. At the announcement of yet another Covid lockdown in Melbourne Australia, rather than head back home to the city, we decided to stay amongst the tranquillity of our then beach house on the Mornington Peninsula. Why is this significant? We lived in a beautiful inner-city home in the gorgeous Melbourne bayside suburb of St Kilda West and life was good...... no life was great. We had the best of both worlds living in an inner-city home that just happened to be a 5-minute walk to St Kilda beach and across the road from Albert Park Lake. Staying in Blairgowrie, however, felt like a retreat, an escape if you like, from life’s unnecessary distractions that can interfere with connecting to what is truly important…. life together right here right now. So, two years on, we have come to call Blairgowrie home. Now that our children have flown the nest, we wanted to share our magical homes with others, and this is how the vision of Melbourne city escapes begin. After years of passion and devotion to the cause, we have created two beautiful spaces, ready for guests to enjoy and experience all that both locations have to offer. Here on the Mornington Peninsula, we created Kalina, our coastal escape for couples looking to (re)write their very own romance. Our city escape, Cowderoy, is perfect for both families wanting an inner-city short stay vacation as well as executives who have had enough of the rotating hotel door experience and instead want a space they can call their home away from home.
